Qualitative Coverage Nutrition Survey and Assessment
International Rescue Committee (IRC) contracted Mogadishu data analysis center to carry out qualitative research survey and assessment. The objective of the qualitative research is to gain further understanding in the key barriers to coverage, local perceptions on malnutrition, its seasonality and treatment seeking behavior in general. In addition, potential solutions to increasing coverage. The duration of the assessment was 26 days including travel days and the coverage survey were conducted in four regions: 1. Banadir (Wadajir and Xamar Jajab) 2. Galgadud(Dhusamareb) 3. Mudug( Galkacyo) 4. Nugal ( Burtinle and Dongoranyo)

The Mogadishu Data Analysis Center (MDAC) has performed a desk review of the relevant project documents for the coverage survey objectives in the study zone, adapted an in-depth qualitative guide to understand barriers to seeking treatment for acute malnutrition in the coverage assessment through investigation of different communities and among representatives of the health district catchment area. Following the recording of data in a database, analysis, and synthesizing of the data, as well as participation in debriefings, presentating results, and triangulation, MDAC has pro-actively participated the dissemination of a final report for the client as a deliverable required.
